We are looking for a Chapter Lead (Team Manager) – Model Validation Credit Risk for our client in the banking industry.
Form of employment: Employment Contract
Operation mode: Hybrid (1–2 office visits in Warsaw or Katowice per week)
Responsibilities:
Manage a chapter: Oversee a team of approximately 10–12 model validators.
Set standards: Establish guidelines for developing, innovating, and safeguarding craftsmanship/knowledge in the field, and ensure quality in backlog delivery.
Performance management: Execute the annual Step Up Performance Management cycle with your chapter members (e.g., target setting, mid-year review, year-end evaluations).
HR activities: Manage HR-related tasks such as recruitment, sickness, leave, etc.
Team meetings: Hold regular meetings with your chapter members, inspiring them to improve, grow, and support their career development.
Recruitment and onboarding: Recruit and onboard new talent.
Continuous improvement: Provide on-the-job coaching and promote a feedback culture within the teams.
Balance priorities: Ensure a balance between achieving squad deliverables and fostering people development.
Requirements:
Education: Possess an academic degree (MSc or PhD) in Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or another quantitative/numerical field.
Passion for people: Be enthusiastic about working with people and developing the talents of others, deriving personal fulfillment from these activities.
Experience: Have proven experience in managing and/or mentoring in risk modeling.
Expertise: Possess extensive knowledge in modeling/validation of A-IRB, IFRS9, and/or Credit Decision Models.
Advisory skills: Want to be a sparring partner/advisor to Senior Management.
Language proficiency: Speak English at a very good level (C1 or above).
Travel: Be prepared to travel occasionally, mainly to Amsterdam.
Team orientation: Be an excellent team player who is service-oriented, people-centric, and eager to learn.
International mindset: Be interested in working in an international environment focused on creativity and modernity.
